Maadu Crafts is owned by a tailor based in the Maldives, who stitches her own tote bags. This brief required the creation of artworks to be printed on these bags – to be sold to tourists – showcasing Maldivian culture and nature. One artwork was created based on local flora, and the intricate and beautiful traditional dress worn by women in Maldives, called Dhivehi Libaas. The second was inspired by classic Maldivian beach scenery, with coconut palms and a traditional sailing boat called Dhoani.
